Kassner Simon 2001 Freinsheimer Oschelkopf Spätlese Scheurebe (Pfalz)
Online Exclusive
Price
$16
Very aromatic, with aromas reminiscent of vanilla and spice. It's so aromatic, it even tastes floral, which may put off some tasters, but it's also ripe, full and concentrated. The only quibble is an abbreviated finish, characteristic of the variety.

Kassner Simon 1998 Brut Riesling (Pfalz)
Price
$17
Full-bodied, this wine shows typical Riesling aromas of flowers, with hints of peach and lemon furniture polish. Seems to be a relatively ripe vintage, and the wine carries a noticeable hint of residual sugar. Good solid weight leads into a big, flavorful finish. —P.G.
