Kennedy Point 2009 Pinot Noir (Marlborough)

Kennedy Point is located on Waiheke Island, so this is contract grown and made for the label in the Marlborough region but the results in 2009 are very good. It delivers campfire-like notes, plus black cherry fruit and hints of brown sugar, mocha and cinnamon. Drink this supple wine over the next year or so.

Kennedy Point 2006 Sauvignon Blanc (Marlborough)

This is a round, mouthfilling Marlborough Sauvignon, with clean scents of grasses, passion fruit and hints of melon and peach, but it lacks flavor intensity despite its size, coming off as slightly lacking concentration. It’s nice, but needs more intensity to shine.

Grassy and herbal, rounded out by sweet pea notes and touches of honey and citrus on the finish, this is a medium-bodied Sauvignon Blanc with quaffing appeal. Chill it well to make up for its lack of cut on the finish.
