Korbin Kameron 2006 Cuvée Kristin Red (Sonoma Mountain)

  • Online Exclusive
  1. $55
A very rich Bordeaux blend based on Cabernet Sauvignon, but quite tannic. You want to give it some time in the cellar. Dry and full-bodied, it shows ripe, deep flavors of blackberry jam, black currants, dark chocolate and anise, with smoky overtones from oak. Feels dramatic and impressive. Give it until 2012 to come around.  — S.H.  (8/1/2010)

Korbin Kameron 2007 Cuvée Kristin Estate Blend Red (Sonoma Valley)

  • Cellar Selection
  1. $55
Very similar to the 2006, Kameron’s ’07 Bordeaux blend, which is based on Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, is upfront in blackberry, cherry, cassis, oak and spice flavors. It’s quite tannic, with a puckery astringency that suggests needed time in the cellar. Better after 2014.  — S.H.  (8/1/2011)

Korbin Kameron 2005 Moonridge Cabernet Sauvignon (Sonoma Valley)

  1. $40
Lush and dramatic. Shows intense flavors of black currants and cedar, wrapped into extremely fine tannins and liberally enhanced with sweet, smoky oak. Very good, but young and fresh. Best 2010–2013.  — S.H.  (12/15/2009)

Korbin Kameron 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon (Sonoma Valley)

  1. $46
It’s not from Napa Valley, but it shows a classic California Cabernet structure that might surprise you in a lineup with Cabs from “over the hill.” Dry and elegant, it brims with black currant, licorice, smoke and cedar flavors, and finishes with the complex texture of a very high-class wine.  — S.H.  (6/1/2008)

Korbin Kameron 2004 Merlot (Sonoma Valley)

  1. $46
Classically structured, with finely-meshed tannins framing smooth flavors of cherries, currants, violets, cola, vanilla and sweet spices. This very nice wine shows how well Merlot can do if the winemaker understands its nature and treats it right.  — S.H.  (6/1/2008)

Korbin Kameron 2006 Moonridge Vineyards Merlot (Sonoma Mountain)

  1. $35
The wild raspberry and cherry fruit is starting to drop out from this five-year-old wine, leaving behind alcohol and acidity. Turns astringent on the finish. Hard to see it improving with more age, but it’s interesting for a certain complex tension.  — S.H.  (12/15/2010)

Korbin Kameron 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon (Sonoma Mountain)

  1. $40
Tastes fruitier and sweeter than past vintages from this winery, with sugar candy flavors of raspberries and cherries, dusted with vanilla. Rich, but lacks dryness and nuance.  — S.H.  (8/1/2011)
