La Bodega de Pinoso 2009 Flos de Pinoso Made With Organic Grapes Macabeo & Airén White (Alicante)
Online Exclusive
Price
$13
Apple and mineral aromas are basic but clean, and the palate is fresh and lithe, with little to no extra weight. Flavors of dry apple and fresh corn work well, and while the finish is short and shy, it’s crisp and clean. A simple wine with light fruit and easy drinkability.

La Bodega de Pinoso 2008 Flos de Pinoso Made With Organic Grapes Monastrell (Alicante)
Online Exclusive
Price
$13
A bit hard and sharp on the nose, but on the plus side it’s clean and direct. The palate follows suit; it’s reasonably balanced, with forward strawberry, raspberry and mocha flavors. Dry and quick on the finish, with a mild resiny leftover oak character.

La Bodega de Pinoso 2008 Vergel Joven Red (Alicante)
Online Exclusive
Price
$14
Rustic, flat and chemical at first, with offsetting caramel sweetness to the nose. The palate is big and dark, with herbal, candied flavors and a peppery, creamy finish. Not the most pure wine to process but for 85% Alicante Bouschet it’s not bad and seems to get better in the glass.

La Bodega de Pinoso 2008 Clave del Secreto Monastrell (Alicante)
Online Exclusive
Price
$9
Sharp, rubbery, stemmy aromas lead to an edgy palate with herbal, burnt, semigreen berry flavors. Finishes green and a bit weedy; acceptable but nothing to get excited over.
