Langtry 2005 Serpentine Meadow Petite Sirah (Guenoc Valley)

  1. $40
This is a gorgeous young Petite Sirah. Most people will probably drink it soon, because although it’s tannic, it’s tremendously ripe in blackberries, cherries, chocolate and sweet oak, making it irresistibly delicious. But it should be drinkable for a very long time, slowly changing its profile and becoming ever more delicate.  — S.H.  (7/1/2009)

Langtry 2006 Tephra Ridge Vineyard Merlot (Lake County)

  • Editors' Choice
  1. $40
Easily the best Merlot in memory from Lake County, this one stands next to anything from Napa Valley, which is just over the hill from the vineyard. Shows a gorgeous tannin structure, with ripe, complex flavors of blackberries, cherries, red currants, mocha, green olives and cedar.  — S.H.  (6/1/2010)

Langtry 2007 Genevieve Vineyard Chardonnay (Guenoc Valley)

  • Online Exclusive
  1. $30
Very rich and opulent, a Chardonnay that can stand on its own alongside most anything from the Russian River. Crisp in acidity, and fueled with oak, it shows complex flavors of pineapples, Asian pears, buttered cinnamon toast, vanilla custard and smoke.  — S.H.  (12/1/2009)

Langtry 1997 Meritage Red

  1. $50
The bouquet is pretty big and dense, with some high-tone raspberry peeking through the surface. Black plum and cherry get help from licorice and vanilla on the palate. Zippy fruit is the signature, even as it does a nice, long fade.  — W.E.  (11/1/2000)

Langtry 2007 Serpentine Meadow Vineyard Petite Sirah (Guenoc Valley)

  • Cellar Selection
  1. $40
Guenoc/Langtry makes a more accessible, $17 Petite Sirah under its Guenoc label but for true Petite Sirah aficionados this Serpentine Meadow vineyard-designated wine is really the one to reach for. Closed at first, the wine is dark, earthy and tannic, heady with blackberry and cherry but especially licorice, with a well-executed, balanced finish. Could cellar 3–5…  — V.B.  (12/1/2011)

Langtry 2006 Genevieve Vineyard Chardonnay (Guenoc Valley)

  1. $35
Dry and fashionable, this has a dusty, minerally character and high acidity that’s reminiscent of a good Chablis. The cool, long vintage resulted in subtle peach, pear, pineapple and spice flavors.  — S.H.  (2/1/2008)

Langtry 2009 Genevieve Vineyard Chardonnay (Guenoc Valley)

  1. $30
Langtry’s Genevieve Vineyard is an esteemed, estate source of Chardonnay and this wine will show you why. Golden in color with a Burgundian nose, it opens with tart apple, Calvados aromas, just a hint of pineapple followed by a great lemony midpalate, its body voluptuous yet balanced, the textures layered and bright. Aged in French oak, it’s rich and complex, a…  — V.B.  (12/1/2011)
