Le Clos d’un Jour 2007 Un Jour.... Malbec (Cahors)

  • Online Exclusive
This is a big, black wine, intensely medicinal and herbal in character. It has powerful, extracted, dark tannins, emphasized by chocolate and spice flavors, as well as dark plums.  — R.V.  (3/1/2011)

Le Clos d’un Jour 2005 Un Jour…. Malbec (Cahors)

  • Cellar Selection
You want power from Malbec? This is it, a solid, dense, structured wine, whose wood element gives vanilla and spice. The fruit meanwhile needs time, its richness under the wood, but it is certainly there. There is weight but that Malbec acidity just powers through to add freshness.  — R.V.  (11/1/2008)

Le Clos d’un Jour 2006 Un Jour sur Terre Malbec (Cahors)

The tiny, 17-acre vineyard of Le Clos d’un Jour produces three wines; this is the middle in quality terms. It was aged in earthenware jars, reproducing ancient techniques. The wine, despite its dark color, is light, refreshing, a model of delicious black fruits and vivid acidity. The tannins are tight and spicy with a bitter-chocolate edge.  — R.V.  (11/1/2008)
