Leopard's Leap 2011 Chenin Blanc (Western Cape)

Price
$14
Barely ripe tropical fruit notes are paired with scents of fresh orange supremes, red apple, beeswax and a hint of honeydew in the nose and mouth. Lively and lifed with a hint of woody spice that lingers on the finish.

Leopard's Leap 2009 Pinotage-Shiraz Red (Western Cape)
Price
$14
A funky edge frames this wine, both on the nose and in the mouth, and adds character to the otherwise straightforward blackberry, boysenberry and fig-preserve core. Cured meat and sweet spice grace the palate and persist through the medium-length close. The blend is 52% Pinotage and 48% Shiraz.

Leopard's Leap 2006 Chardonnay (Western Cape)
Price
$13
Vanilla oak leads on this luscious Chard from Leopard’s Leap, and will please anyone with a taste for a more voluptuous white wine. There are also touches of melon here, but it’s mostly about the soft oak flavors. Good acidity keeps it from going too far in the wooded direction, and there’s an elegant balance overall.

Leopard's Leap 2004 Shiraz (Western Cape)

Price
$13
Black pepper, spice, and the unique touch of violet are the hallmarks of this Shiraz from South Africa. The wine has plenty of muscular kick in the flavors but its overall nature is smooth and integrated, and will only get better with aging. Pair with typical Shiraz compliments like lamb or grilled meats.

Leopard's Leap 2006 Lookout Rosé Pinotage (Western Cape)

This is a good example of how to work with Pinotage's assertive character in a way that is both inventive and accessible. Here, it adds body and a clean, dry character that balances the appetizing strawberry and honey flavors of the wine. Good acidity adds a lively punch. Overall, this is a great wine with a unique character.

Leopard's Leap 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon (Western Cape)
Online Exclusive
Price
$15
Cherry, blueberry and cassis backed by earthy coffee give this wine flavor and heft, but it’s not a terribly complex pour. It would pair well with exotic dishes like spiced lamb or assertive cheeses. Grown in vineyards visited by the indigenous leopard population of the Franschhoek Valley/Western Cape Winelands area. Imported by Confluence Wine Importers.

Leopard's Leap 2006 Chenin Blanc (Western Cape)
Price
$15
Appealing aromas of tropical fruit are backed up by a balanced combination of guava, apricot and toast with this Chenin Blanc from South African producer Leopard's Leap. There's good acidity here which keeps the flavors from weighing down the palate, making this another good food pairing bet and a great summer pour. Imported by Confluence Wine Importers.
