Aromas of red licorice, smoke and rubber create an attractive nose, which is followed by ripe, moderately rich cherry fruit that’s clearly a grade up in this category. The smoky, textured finish is the final stamp earning approval. Nicely done. Best Buy.

The color is bright, almost red, and the wine keeps some of its red roots, so to speak. The nose offers fragrant crushed berries and spice, while there’s cherry along with citrus on the palate. Full yet not ponderous or flat. But also not especially sharp or fresh.

Plum and smoke aromas with pure cherry and strawberry flavors. Always the steady value wine, and this one has force and power that makes you take notice. The tannins are a bit large, however, causing some drying on the finish.
