On one hand the nose comes across burnt and stalky, while on the other hand it’s toasted, smoky and racy, with pent up intensity. Overall, it’s medium in size and density, with a blend of herb, licorice, pepper and red fruit flavors. Oaky, spicy and a touch hot on the finish, and it’s bright and juicy throughout.

Definitely an elevated New World-style Chardonnay with baked apple, peach and toast aromas. The palate is richly textured, with lemony flavors that suggest orange, green melon and apple. A fresh and classy wine with well-applied oak and good overall balance.

Tea, raspberry and tree bark aromas are interesting and inviting, while the strawberry and cherry flavors are a little gritty and reduced but true to the blueprint in terms of taste. On the finish, chocolate, vanilla and other oak-based flavors do their thing. Not a perfect New World Pinot but it’s on the right path.

Pungent and green on the nose, which makes it 100% varietally correct. It smells and tastes of cool-climate terroir, and if you enjoy simple but likable citrus, melon, snap pea and bell pepper characteristics, this has it. Good by the glass or by the bottle.

Wet, salinic, oceanic and appley on the nose, with snappy, crisp, almost tart flavors of apple and citrus. A pure wine with juicy acids and a monotone finish that sports lemon and green apple. Powerful, pure, acidic and zesty for Chilean Chardonnay.

Briney and oceanic on the nose, but not vegetal as lime and green melon aromas take control. Citrusy, juicy and fresh in the mouth, with passion fruit, citrus, mango and pineapple flavors. This is pure coastal Chilean SB, and it finishes grassy and green, with lasting tang.

One sniff indicates there’s a fair amount of oak on this Chardonnay, plus baked apple and peach scents. The palate offers acidic rip and lemony cut, but it’s not too sharp. Tangy flavors of lemon and citrus are wrapped in resiny oak, and the finish is textured and long.
