Livingston 1997 Mitchell Vineyard Syrah (Napa Valley)
Price
$35
Lovely dark nose with black currants and raspberry; anise and smoke. Inky on the palate, with leather, blackberry and pepper. Not fat, but rather elegant mouthfeel. Has power, though with peppery notes and full tannins on the finish. Tight now, so cellar for 3 or 4 years.

Livingston 1996 Moffett Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley)
Price
$50
Shows red plums and black cherries, with cinnamon and herbal-floral nuances on the nose. Good depth of blackberry fruit on the palate, along with tobacco and toasty oak flavors. Full mouthfeel and medium-to-full tannins on the moderately long finish. Should come together well over the next 2 to 4 years.
