A complex, savory Pinot Noir for $12? Yup. Hints of bacon and mushroom are prominent, with just enough cherry fruit to support them. It's light in body, with supple tannins, so drink it over the next six months or so.

This bargain-priced offering combines tobacco leaf with Green Gage plum in a medium-bodied format. The flavors aren't quite as fresh and vibrant as the best examples, but it'll more than do for many occasions.

This medium-bodied Pinot Gris turns a bit skinny on the finish, but offers a decent mouthful of apple, pear and citrus flavors. Drink now.
