Lopez Noceti 2008 1919 Malbec (Mendoza)
Best Buy
Price
$12
Great Malbec for the money, and one that gives the impression that it’s three or four times more expensive than it is. From 40-year-old vines, this is concentrated and complex, with graphite, plum, prune and blackberry aromas. The palate is heavy but correct, and the primary flavors of berry and plum segue into fig and chocolate with ease.

Lopez Noceti 2008 1919 Cabernet Sauvignon (Mendoza)
Online Exclusive
Price
$12
Deep purple in color and rich on the nose, with bacon, roasted berry, rubber, spice and heft. The palate is thick and round, with smooth edges and flavors of bacon grease and roasted black fruits. Sweet and spicy late, with a lasting flavor of savory barbecue. Hard to peg as Cabernet Sauvignon but not a bad wine if you like yours lusty and rich.
