Lorikeet NV Brut Sparkling (South Eastern Australia)
Best Buy
Price
$10
Overall, the brut is pretty similar to Lorikeet’s Extra Dry sparkler. Honeyed, tropical fruit, a medium body and light toasty aromas make for an easy, enjoyable value-priced bubbly. Imported by North Lake Wines.

Lorikeet NV Extra Dry Sparkling (South Eastern Australia)
Best Buy
Price
$10
Almost identical to the Lorikeet Brut. There’s more peachy-tropical fruit here; it’s off-dry, as it should be, with a brief finish. Imported by North Lake Wines.

Lorikeet NV Brut Sparkling (South Eastern Australia)
Best Buy
Price
$9
Smells pretty yeasty—caramelly, even—and the palate's toasty graham-cracker quality follows suit. Cherry flavors pick up midpalate, and drive the wine through the finish. Will have wide appeal, particularly for those who like their still Chards and Pinots fat and toasty.

Lorikeet NV Sparkling Shiraz (South Eastern Australia)

Has a bubblegum center, with a woody, almost metallic, shell. Aromas are of tea and toast; tannins are pretty dominant. Imported by North Lake Wines.

Lorikeet NV Sparkling Shiraz (South Eastern Australia)

Raspeberry, blackberry and plum flavors and aromas rule the roost here, with oak and cream in supporting roles. It wants some length on the finish, but overall, it's a fine introduction to sparkling Shiraz, and one of the least expensive on the U.S. market.

Lorikeet NV Extra Dry Sparkling (South Eastern Australia)
Best Buy
Price
$9
This new brand's extra dry is a light-bodied aperitif-style wine with light peach and floral flavors, and powdered-sugar notes on the nose and the finish. The bead's a little coarse, but the wine is still a fine choice (and a good value) for holiday parties.
