Opens with gumball aromas and also foresty spice and bramble. The palate is tight and tannic as it delivers standard red licorice, berry and leathery flavors. Finishes with some salty leather and that’s about it.

Vanilla and toast aromas are prominent but the fruit is so subdued that overall the wine is out to lunch. Snappy and showing okay acidity in the mouth, but the flavors are dull and melony, with toasty vanilla notes that don’t help it enough.
