Luce della Vite 2007 Sangiovese Grosso (Brunello di Montalcino)

  • Cellar Selection
  1. $93
Luce della Vite opens with an opulent, generous style and is packed with black cherry, black currant, cola, leather and pipe tobacco. This is a plush, rich and deeply textured wine, with plenty of intensity and staying power. It shows dense tannins with a touch of youthful astringency. Age 10 more years.  — M.L.  (5/1/2012)

Luce della Vite 2006 Luce Red (Toscana)

  • Cellar Selection
  • Online Exclusive
  1. $90
We are extremely impressed with this vintage of Luce (made by Frescobaldi and Mondavi in Montalcino, Tuscany). The blend of Merlot and Sangiovese is amazingly modern, pleasurable and penetrating with a huge focus on black cherry and chocolate fudge aromas. The tannins are tight and focused and the wine could use another five years of cellaring.  — M.L.  (3/1/2010)
