Madonna Alta 2005 Sagrantino (Sagrantino di Montefalco)
Online Exclusive
Price
$45
This inky Sagrantino di Montefalco opens with mature aromas of blackberry preserves and strawberry jam. You’ll also get intense notes of spice, leather and tobacco but those overripe fruit notes still manage to stand in front. The mouth has firm, very astringent tannins and a sweet berry finish. Let the tannins soften with a few more years of bottle aging.

Madonna Alta 2006 Red (Montefalco Rosso)
Online Exclusive
Price
$16
Madonna Alta is characterized by dark chocolate, exotic spice, blackberries, leather and tobacco: The wine is firm but smooth and would make a perfect pairing to ossobuco with roasted potatoes and rosemary.

Madonna Alta 2004 Red (Montefalco Rosso)
Price
$25
This is an easy wine to drink with a soft, generous personality and interesting aromas of red berry fruit backed by dusty minerals and spice. It would pair well with pasta, pork and veal thanks to its no-fuss approach and natural succulence.

Madonna Alta 2002 Sagrantino (Montefalco)
The Ferraro family bought beautiful property surrounding a 15th-centruy chapel dedicated to the Madonna in 1992 and today 14 hectares are planted to vines. Here’s an example of a more traditional take on Sagrantino Montefalco aged 18 months in Slovenian oak with vegetal, pea pod tones and a tannic explosion that makes your mouth go tight.
