Dry, and hard to love, this crianza's nose has a penetrating petrol-menthol note that all but obscures what plum fruit lies beneath. The same goes for the palate: Dry herbs and fresh-cut wood swathe the red-plum core. Finishes with charred wood. Tasted twice.  — D.T.  (4/1/2003)
