Marcelina 2001 Chardonnay (Carneros)

  1. $25
A Chard that’s rich and oaky. Fills the mouth with ripe flavors of apples, peaches and pears, wrapped in a creamy, smooth texture. Finishes with a delicious array of spices.  — S.H.  (5/1/2003)

Marcelina 1997 Chardonnay (Napa Valley)

  1. $22
Deep gold color. The nose is nutty-toasty with an almost liqueur-like intensity. The full palate offers apple fruit with anise and vanilla accents. Rich and oaky in a positive way; a solid example of this style.  — W.E.  (6/1/2000)

Marcelina 1998 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley)

  1. $30
Basic upscale Cabernet here, with blackcurrant and green olive notes encased in oak. It’s dry and soft, but it does have a plush, velvety texture. There’s some good fruit in the middle and a nice spiciness that lasts into the finish.  — S.H.  (6/1/2002)

Marcelina 1995 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley)

  1. $25
Made at Gallo’s Sonoma winery, this is a good varietal rendition of one style of Napa Cabernet. The wine has bright, juicy fruit, dominated by blackberries and black cherries. The finish certainly invites another glass, with its lively layers of flavor.  — L.W.  (11/1/1999)

Marcelina 2003 Chardonnay (Carneros)

  1. $24
Pretty acidic now, and dry, with the flavor of grapefruit and lime juice and a squeeze of peach syrup. There’s a mineral thing going on in the finish.  — S.H.  (10/1/2005)
