The scents of sandalwood, pepper and dried cherry dominate a nose that indicates a wine that’s fading more than growing. There’s a bit of apple skin and cherry to the mouth, and then some spicy oak on the back end. Lean, with a tight feel and citrusy, acidic edges.  — M.S.  (11/15/2003)
