Unlike many of its brethren, this Eden Valley Riesling relies on weight and texture rather than a fine line of acid to make an impression. This Hill Smith-Grosset joint venture is a very good wine, but not quite up to the snuff of past vintages. It smells like whipping cream and citrus (and goes the way of petrol with a little time in the glass), and unfolds to a bracing, minerally, sourish wine on the palate.
