Morey-Blanc 2004 Genevrières Premier Cru Chardonnay (Meursault)

  1. $102
Relatively closed up at this stage, not giving much, this wine is all about freshness, poised but rich fruit and a structure that suggests long-term development. The wood is quite prominent, overshadowing what will be delicious yellow-fruit flavors. Come back to this wine in five years—it will be magnificent.  — R.V.  (12/1/2006)

Morey-Blanc 2007 Chardonnay (Corton-Charlemagne)

  1. $200
A firm, tight wine, still young, still not showing all the roundness and weight that is potentially there. This is a wine that needs decanting, offering some good aging potential.  — R.V.  (7/1/2010)

Morey-Blanc 2004 Charmes Premier Cru Chardonnay (Meursault)

  1. $92
It’s not a bad name for this vineyard—Charmes. This wine, which expresses the nature of the vineyard, is certainly approachable, friendly almost. But there’s also a steel fist there that demands time. And if you can’t wait, it’s a great wine to drink now.  — R.V.  (12/1/2006)

Morey-Blanc 2004 Gouttes d'Or Premier Cru Chardonnay (Meursault)

  1. $120
Pierre Morey also runs a small negociant business, Morey Blanc, specializing in whites from Meursault. This is one of the wines, a delicious, fresh, crisp wine that’s packed with light, airy flavors of green apples and citrus.  — R.V.  (12/1/2006)

Morey-Blanc 2005 Clos du Chapitre Premier Cru Pinot Noir (Aloxe-Corton)

  1. $79
Rich and dense, revealing ripe fruit, touches of wood and firm flavors, and a delicious juicy interior which bursts through. It revels in this fruit, all red berries and fresh acidity. To finish, there is some toasty wood.  — R.V.  (3/1/2008)

Morey-Blanc 2005 Premier Cru Chardonnay (St.-Aubin)

  1. $48
Grapefruit, toast and white peach aromas give this wine a great start. It is not powerful but is deliciously balanced with fresh green plum and pink grapefruit flavors rounded out with just the perfect amount of wood. Drink 2010.  — R.V.  (5/1/2008)

Morey-Blanc 2005 Premier Cru Bouchères Chardonnay (Meursault)

  • Editors' Choice
  1. $110
Soft, ripe and balanced, this is already a delicious wine. The grapefruit edge to the fruit gives it considerable freshness, but there are also flavors of white fruits, just leavened by toast. To finish, the acidity just bounces out of the glass.  — R.V.  (5/1/2008)

Morey-Blanc 2007 Bouchères Premier Cru Chardonnay (Meursault)

  • Editors' Choice
  1. $130
Enticing aromas of pear juice announce a soft, open-textured wine, with ripe pineapple and kiwi along with a pear skin texture. The wine is ready, its fruit and integrated wood open, soft and welcoming.  — R.V.  (7/1/2010)
