Mount Baker 2005 Reserve Viognier (Yakima Valley)
Online Exclusive
Price
$20
The fruit carries considerable sweetness, although the wine is probably under 1% RS. Peach, apricot and lemon drop candy flavors fill the mouth, with supporting acidity. The reserve designation suggests a much bigger wine; this is not that, but it is balanced and has surprising concentration and length.

Mount Baker 2008 Proprietor's Limited Release Malbec (Yakima Valley)

Price
$20
Fresh, spicy and crisp, this deft Malbec shines with pretty raspberry fruit and sharp acidity. Focused and clean, it’s a big step forward for this winery.

Mount Baker 2006 Estate Madeline Angevine (Puget Sound)
Online Exclusive
Price
$12
This has interesting spice in both the nose and the mouth, a bit like sniffing fresh pine needles. There is also a whiff of rose petal and a streak of those floral flavors in the back of the palate. Just under 13% alcohol, this pretty white wine would pair up nicely with a delicate seafood dish.

Mount Baker 2009 Proprietor’s Limited Release Riesling (Yakima Valley)

Simple and straightforward, this fruity wine offers lemon/lime fruit and moderate acidity. Fine for everyday consumption, best chilled.

Mount Baker 2006 Roussanne (Yakima Valley)
Online Exclusive
Price
$20
This is an almost weightless, acidic and lightly peppery white wine that shows vague hints of pale citrus—lime and lemon, and fresh cilantro. It doesn’t taste much like the Roussanne varietal, but it might pass for a budget Grüner Veltliner in a blind tasting.

Mount Baker 2008 Proprietor’s Limited Release Chardonnay (Yakima Valley)
Online Exclusive
Price
$17
Short and sharp, this “Proprietor’s Limited Release” is simply a plain, generic style, with a bitter finish.

Mount Baker 2007 Barrel Select Syrah (Yakima Valley)
Online Exclusive
Price
$14
This “Barrel Select” Syrah has been ripened to pruneyness, yet remains short, hot and simple. It could be any red grape left to hang late and fermented at (perhaps) high temperatures.

Mount Baker 2008 Proprietor’s Limited Release Zinfandel (Red Mountain)
Online Exclusive
Price
$30
This Zinfandel tastes barely ripe; there is little or no fruit flavor, just a leafy, light, generic wine that quickly disappears from the palate.
