Mud House Wine Company 2000 Chardonnay (Marlborough)
Price
$17
An award-winning wine back in New Zealand, time and travel seem to have taken their toll. It’s still tasty, but relies heavily on oak for its character. Dried spices and butterscotch are just barely balanced out by peach and papaya notes.

Mud House Wine Company 2001 Pinot Noir (Marlborough)
Price
$33
Starts off with pretty aromas of truffles and earth before opening up on the palate to show plum and cherry flavors. Finishes a bit rough and rustic.

Mud House Wine Company 2002 Sauvignon Blanc (Marlborough)
Price
$16
Lean and razor-sharp, this wine is best suited for simply prepared or raw shellfish. Melon and green pepper aromas and asparagus and tart grapefruit flavors will accent the sweet brininess of fresh oysters.

Mud House Wine Company 1999 Black Swan Reserve Merlot (Marlborough)
Price
$25
This tart, sour-cherry-flavored wine is dominated by shrill acidity. Disappointing.
