Mutt Lynch 2001 Canis Major, Perotti Vineyard Zinfandel (Dry Creek Valley)

Fairly densely structured, with black cherry, blackberry, licorice, herb, spice and oak nuances. The tannins are quite firm, but ripe, keeping the wine neatly supported. On the finish it’s smooth and ripe.

Mutt Lynch 1999 Domaine du Bone Zinfandel (Dry Creek Valley)

$20
An elegant style that is made from 50-year-old vines. The wine is made in a refined style. Not effusive, but showing a fine blend of black-currant, cherry, herb and toast flavors. Lovely now, but it should also improve nicely in the cellar.
