Nadia 2008 Santa Barbara Highlands Vineyard White (Santa Barbara County)

  1. $30
This is a blend of Viognier, Grenache Blanc and Roussanne. It’s extraordinarily rich in peach, pear, citrus and honeysuckle flavors, and is marked by zesty acidity, with a buttercreamy, oaky note. Interesting and complex. Try as an exotic alternative to a big Chardonnay.  — S.H.  (2/1/2011)

Nadia 2004 Santa Barbara Highlands Vineyard Red (Santa Barbara County)

  1. $50
This ambitious launch is from the owner of Laetitia. The grapes are from the Sierra Madre Mountains of eastern Santa Barbara County. Almost totally Cabernet Sauvignon, the wine is clean, balanced and dry, with an elegant structure. It’s rather like a good Third or Fourth Growth. The next step is to build in layers of depth and complexity.  — S.H.  (11/1/2007)

Nadia 2006 White (Santa Barbara County)

  1. $30
A blend of Viognier, Roussanne and Grenache Blanc, this wine is slightly sweet and simple, despite high acidity. There’s a firm minerality to the honeysuckle, pineapple and oak flavors. The challenge for the winemaker is to make the wine drier.  — S.H.  (12/31/2007)

Nadia 2006 Santa Barbara Highlands Vineyard Red (Santa Barbara County)

  1. $35
A little rugged in the mouth, with some fierce tannins, but otherwise a pretty good Cabernet-based wine. The berry-cherry and currant flavors will benefit from an hour or two of airing.  — S.H.  (2/1/2011)
