A top-notch value Cabernet with no flaws. The fruit on the nose is pretty and stylish but doesn’t force the issue, while the palate is juicy and fresh with flavors of cola, cassis and wild berry. Not a complicated wine, but one that pushes all the right buttons. Ripe and friendly to the last drop. A lot of wine for the money.

The feel and flow on the wine are just right, while the blackberry and chocolate chip-mint flavors are tasty and even a bit complex. A nice, clean, attractive version of affordable Carmenère? Yep, that’s what Odfjell delivers pretty much every year with its Armador bottling. Aromas are floral, minerally and deep, and so is the palate, which is pure, spicy and loaded with blackberry fruit. Smooth on the finish, too. One of Chile’s best value-priced Carmenères.

Fairly potent, with notes of red berry, leather and Tootsie Roll carrying the nose. In the mouth, flavors of raspberry, red licorice and red pepper flake create an intriguing whole, while on the finish there’s a smooth carryover from the palate. Quite tasty and easy to drink.

Sweet, ripe and healthy, with a slight touch of fresh herbs accenting the nose. The palate shows a roundness and good balance, and the flavors of cola and blackberry are simple to understand and enjoy. Smooth, easy stuff, with a kiss of oak and light but present tannins.

Odfjell previously struggled a bit with SB but this one is quite good and correct. It features green aromas of lime and herbs with some minerality folded in. The palate is zesty and lively, with lime and green apple flavors. Finishes in direct fashion. Drink soon.
