Osoyoos Larose 2004 Pétales d'Osoyoos Red (Okanagan Valley)

  1. $30
The prestigious Osoyoos Larose project just released Pétales—its second wine—blended from barrels that were given the same first-class treatment as Le Grand Vin. Organic, earthy, leafy flavors infuse the dark, smoky fruit. At half the cost of its big brother, Pétales is also more accessible and offers much the same challenging complexity.  — P.G.  (12/1/2007)

Osoyoos Larose 2002 Le Grand Vin Red (Okanagan Valley)

  1. $35
The second vintage of this heralded joint venture between Vincor (owner of Jackson-Triggs) and Groupe Taillan of Bordeaux is an intriguing wine that starts with vibrant red berries, dried herbs and cracked-pepper notes but thins out a bit on the finish. Credit the creamy midpalate to consulting enologist Michel Rolland. Imported by Vincor USA.  — J.C.  (9/1/2005)

Osoyoos Larose 2003 Le Grand Vin Red (Okanagan Valley)

  1. $35
Marrying Okanagan grapes and French winemaking styles, this Bordeaux blend is a joint venture between industry giant Vincor and the Bordeaux wine company Groupe Tailan. Rich strawberry and spice on the nose and a firm combination of white pepper, smoke and vanilla make for an unusual offering that could probably age a bit to soften its edges.  — S.K.  (5/1/2007)
