Oxford Landing 2007 GSM Grenache-Shiraz-Mourvèdre Grenache-Syrah-Mourvèdre (South Australia)

  • Best Buy
  1. $8
A remarkable value, Oxford Landing’s GSM is a convincing argument in favor of blending. It offers a complex mélange of leather, spice and cherry notes, medium body and a fresh, vivacious finish. Considering it can probably be found for around $80 per case, this would make a great everyday wine for drinking over the next year or so.  — J.C.  (10/1/2010)

Oxford Landing 2009 Viognier (South Australia)

  • Best Buy
  1. $10
Yes, it is possible to find real Viognier character for $10 per bottle (conceivably $6 by the glass). Featuring ample fruit balanced by crisp acids, this is very drinkable stuff. This wine’s modest pear and apricot aromas lack some of the flamboyance of top examples, but this is still a very good effort.  — J.C.  (5/1/2011)

Oxford Landing 2009 Chardonnay (South Australia)

  • Best Buy
  1. $8
Easy to drink yet a bit interesting as well, this is a top-notch Chardonnay bargain. Features hazelnut and melon on the nose, then adds pineapple and vanilla to the mix on the palate before ending with a hint of white pepper. Drink now.  — J.C.  (9/1/2010)

Oxford Landing 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon-Shiraz (South Australia)

  • Best Buy
  1. $8
There’s a lot going on in this simple Cab-Shiraz. Aromas of earth, cherry and Sweet Tarts pave the way for white pepper, plum and fresh cedar on the palate. Medium-full, with nice balance, the wine finishes with a zippy (but not too hot) black pepper note. An easy mainstream sell.  — D.T.  (9/1/2001)

Typical with its floral and honey aromas. Medium-weight, with pear, melon and floral notes. Its 14.5% alcohol is noticeable, but it’s still a good wine at a good price. Imported by Negociants USA, Inc. Best Buy.  — D.T.  (8/1/2005)

Oxford Landing 2003 Merlot (South Australia)

Just the right size to enjoy with a meal. This is one juicy Merlot, with a parade of plum, blackberry and raspberry flavors and aromas. Feels smooth, with oak adding an acorn-like accent through the finish. Imported by Negociants USA, Inc.  — D.T.  (5/1/2005)

Oxford Landing 1998 Limited Release Grenache (South Australia)

  • Best Buy
  1. $10
Deceptively light in color, this wine nevertheless packs a wallop, with a hefty 14.5% alcohol. The delicate—almost Burgundian—cherries start off buried by oak and alcohol, but after some airing the flavors come together in a pleasant mélange of Bing cherries, maple syrup and caramel, accented on the finish by a touch of black pepper. Best Buy.  — J.C.  (9/1/2001)
