Pala 2008 Assoluto White (Isola dei Nuraghi)

  • Online Exclusive
Made with overripe, concentrated grapes, Assoluto is a crisp and luminous dessert wine. It releases very feminine aromas of honey, yellow rose, vanilla cream and loads of stone fruit. There’s glycerine, but also acidity to maintain that ideal balance between thickness and freshness.  — M.L.  (12/31/2010)

Pala 2007 Assoluto White (Isola dei Nuraghi)

  • Online Exclusive
This luscious dessert wine represents an 80-20 blend of Nasco and Vermentino and is redolent of honey, dried apricot and almond paste. The wine boasts a luminous golden color, good crispness and enduring sweetness.  — M.L.  (9/1/2009)

Pala 2003 S'arai Red (Isola dei Nuraghi)

  1. $40
This is a beautifully crafted 40-30-30 blend of Cannonau, Carignano and Bovale with dark concentration and vibrant cherry fruit, bold espresso and background notes of toast, vanilla bean and cedar thanks to 12 months in barrique. All these aromas are contained within an elegant whole and the wine’s quality is evident. Firm in structure: drink after 2008.  — M.L.  (8/1/2007)

Pala 2005 S'arai Red (Isola dei Nuraghi)

Named after the Sardinian word for “plow,” S’arai is a blend of Cannonau, Carignano and Bovale (vinified separately and aged in oak) that offers a full palate of exotic spice and mature fruit. It boasts excellent concentration and soft, drying tannins.  — M.L.  (9/1/2009)

Pala 2005 Assoluto White (Isola dei Nuraghi)

  1. $43
This is a lovely dessert wine that should be served very chilled. Its aromas are intense and inviting and recall almond, plush peach, apricot and honey. Pala 2006 Entemari White (Isola dei Nuraghi)

Pala’s Entemari is higher in intensity and sophistication compared to the rest of the white wine portfolio and seems intentionally crafted for an elaborate seafood meal. Dried flowers, passion fruit, sweet nut, natural rubber and nutmeg spice add dimension and personality.  — M.L.  (2/1/2008)

Pala 2008 Entemari White (Isola dei Nuraghi)

Extremely floral on the nose and well structured in the mouth, this pretty white wine from Sardinia offers aromas of yellow rose, vanilla bean and almond paste. There’s enough density here to pair with pistachio-encrusted sole or sea bream.  — M.L.  (7/1/2011)
