Parxet NV Brut Gren Reserva MM Millenniu Sparkling (Alella)

  1. $21
Made in the Alella district north of Barçelona. Toasty and yeasty, with green apples, pears, and orange peel in the nose. Could fool some people as a Champagne. Very creamy, richly flavored, and full-bodied, yet elegantly structured. A long, clean, dry, toasty finish, with hints of orange peel, green figs and pears.  — G.D.  (12/15/1999)

Parxet NV Cuvée 21 Brut Sparkling (Cava)

  1. $14
Crisp, neutral and just a little lemony on the nose, with a small hint of sulfuric burn. The palate is genuine and firm, with nectarine and citrus flavors holding court. Clean and lightweight on the finish, with overall elegance. Shows good flow and balance while keeping things modest.  — M.S.  (12/15/2008)

Pretty toasty aromas lead off, followed by lively lemon, pear, melon and apple notes. Moderate on the finish, though clean and fresh at the end.  — J.M.  (12/31/2001)

Parxet NV Brut Pinot Noir (Cava)

  • Best Buy
  1. $12
Round and fruity, with sweet, attractive aromas. The palate is a bit dark for cava, with plum and bitter chocolate flavors. The feel is soft and foamy, with a dry, roasted note on the finish. Clear as can be; easy to tell that it’s Pinot Noir. Imported by CIV/USA.  — M.S.  (6/1/2006)

Parxet 2002 Marques de Alella Clasico White (Alella)

  • Best Buy
  1. $10
Floral and fresh, with a supercharged personality and plenty of sugary sweetness. On the plus side, it’s racy and lithe, and that’s despite being as candied as it is. But ask yourself, what’s not to like about lemon-lime and apple? And when there’s smoothness and palate feel thrown in, you wind up with a warm-weather winner.  — M.S.  (8/1/2003)

Parxet 1999 Tionio Crianza Tinto del Pais (Ribera del Duero)

  1. $20
From a bodega better known for their cavas comes this rustic 100% Tinto del Pais(Tempranillo). It’s well-structured, with a foundation of taut red fruit and sturdy oak—but the tannins are on the gritty side, which, in this case, seems to work fairly well.  — D.T.  (4/1/2003)

Parxet NV Brut Nature Sparkling (Cava)

  1. $17
Aged for a minimum of two years, with no dosage (sugar) added at bottling. A gold edge to the straw color. A pretty, refined nose with hints of honeysuckle. A creamy, not-too-aggressive mousse. Quite fruity for a brut nature, but not sweet. Stylish, with nice orange-peel flavors in the finish. A good dry cava to have with meals.  — G.D.  (12/15/1999)

Parxet NV Cuvée Dessert Dulce Pinot Noir (Cava)

  • Online Exclusive
  1. $20
Not every wine is easy to read: this one is a case in point. The nose offers sweet toffee and apricot, while the palate starts out toasty and dry before unveiling ripe peach and brown sugar. The dosage on this wine is unusual. A funky bubbly that’s worth a try.  — M.S.  (6/1/2006)
