Paschal 2001 Estate Grown Chardonnay (Rogue Valley)

Light and flowery up front, and clean. The palate is more mouthfilling than might be expected; the flavors veer toward apple and pear, and while those flavors are basic, they are persistent and clean, as is the finish. Decent acidity and overall freshness keep this wine vital. It stumbles compared to great Chardonnay, but for Oregon it’s not disappointing.  — M.S.  (9/1/2003)
