Pauletts 2008 Polish Hill River Riesling (Clare Valley)
Editors' Choice
Price
$26
A rich, amply endowed Clare Riesling, with potent lime aromas accented by touches of petrol, plenty of flavor intensity and a long finish composed of citrus and spice. Hints of baked apple and petrol suggest it may not be the longest-lived Riesling, but it’s delicious now and should be good for another five years or so.

Pauletts 2006 Polish Hill River Cabernet Merlot (Clare Valley)
The blend of 70% Cabernet and 30% Merlot spent 15 months in French oak, yielding a medium-bodied wine that shows classically restrained Cabernet character on the midpalate. Cedar, tobacco and cassis mingle easily, shading into chocolate on the slightly warm finish. Drink now–2016.

Pauletts 2007 Andreas Premium Polish Hill River Shiraz (Clare Valley)
Price
$40
This medium- to full-bodied red features bright fruit accented by oak. Vanilla strongly marks the nose, yet cherry and raspberry also come through, tinged with baking spices. Crisp and firm on the finish; try pairing with rich cuts of red meat.

Pauletts 2008 Polish Hill River Trillians Sparkling Brut (Clare Valley)
Better known for its dry Rieslings that benefit from aging, this Clare Valley producer has turned out a very respectable bubbly that’s ready to drink. It’s round—almost lush—on the palate, boasting hints of citrus, cream and toast.

Pauletts 2010 Antonina Polish Hill River Riesling (Clare Valley)
Online Exclusive
Starts off with petrol-like scents and gingery-peppery spice notes, then folds in pleasantly citrusy flavors. It’s a bit plump through the midpalate but remains focused on the finish, resulting in a wine that’s harmonious and easy to drink now.

Pauletts 2005 Polish Hill River Cabernet Merlot (Clare Valley)
Price
$12
There’s just a bit of Merlot mixed with the Cabernet Sauvignon here (18%) that likely contributes to the herbal, woodsy aspect of the nose. It’s juicy and crisp, with sweet fruit and firm but ripe tannins in the mouth. A solid value. Drink now.
