Pazo De Villarei 2006 Terra d'Ouro Albariño (Rías Baixas)
Price
$20
Light but generic aromas of white fruits and white flowers give this wine a happy bouquet. The palate is starting to tip toward fading, but if you get at it soon you’ll find perfectly nice peach, melon and citrus flavors setting up a soft, easygoing finish.

Pazo De Villarei 2000 Albariño (Rías Baixas)
Price
$15
The bright golden color indicates age as well as oak—and that oak is confirmed on the nose, where there’s a lot of corn and a strong smell of pungent wood. The palate offers mostly overripe apple and, yes, wood. The feel is flat, proving that Albariño doesn’t take well to heavy oaking.
