Pazo Serantellos 2007 Albariño (Rías Baixas)

Nice aromas, maybe a bit candied, but totally within reason. The palate is bold and forward, with mass appeal and modest intentions. Tastes ripe and feels globular, with just enough acidity to keep it upright. Bulky on one hand but just tangy enough on the other. Drink now.  — M.S.  (11/15/2008)

Melon, honey and white stone-fruit aromas carry the nose, with a touch of sulfuric match stick sneaking in late. The palate deals good lime, citrus and spiced apple, and while the finish is lean and short, it’s also clean and scouring. A nice wine for near-term consumption.  — M.S.  (11/1/2007)

Light aromas of melon, apple and pear are just fine, and the mildly chunky palate sporting apple-based flavors is good, as is the pineapple finish. Tasty and simple Albariño, and really not much more to say. Good for the summer into fall.  — M.S.  (8/1/2009)

Pazo Serantellos 2010 Albariño (Rías Baixas)

Forward on the nose, with standard apple and white peach aromas. The palate is a bit clipped and short, with green-leaning flavors of scallion matched with grapefruit. Finishes citrusy.  — M.S.  (11/1/2011)
