One of South Africa’s star winemakers, Kevin Arnold, has produced an impressive, dry wine, with intense apple and grapefruit flavors. It is crisp, with a delicious lift at the end, and a dry, green aftertaste. Imported by Yellowwood Wine Company.  — R.V.  (11/15/2005)

Pecan Stream 2006 Red (Stellenbosch)

Easygoing, balanced aromas of vanilla toast, blackberry and smoke are followed by spicy, lively flavors in this fun red. The wine has an edgy character but red berry/cherry flavors fill in the corners. Pair with BBQ or beef dishes.  — S.K.  (12/31/2009)

Pecan Stream 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon-Shiraz (Stellenbosch)

  1. $14
This wine, made by respected winemaker Kevin Arnold (who has released Pecan Stream as a second label to Waterford Estate) is a balanced blend of 50% Cabernet and 42% Shiraz with some Cabernet Franc, Mourvèdre, Cinsaut and Merlot. On the nose, there’s clove, chocolate and herbal notes, and on the palate, some smokiness with oak and berry. Likeable and easy to drink.  — S.K.  (3/1/2007)
