It’s tempting to score this wine even higher, because it’s so decadently delicious. Just oozes chocolate, cassis, pecan pie, French roast coffee and vanilla flavors, wrapped in ripe, soft tannins. The quibble is that it finishes as sweet as a dessert wine, although it’s probably technically dry.

The grapes got really ripe here, so ripe that the wine tastes like melted blackberry and cherry jam, drizzled with cassis liqueur and vanilla extract, and with a curiously briny, salty finish. Could come together, but right now, pretty direct and simple.
