Charcoal, cola and licorice are all components of this wine’s dark and meaty nose. And the palate hardly disappoints; there’s depth and harmony to the berry, coffee and mocha flavors. Gumdrop, mint and licorice combine with raisiny aromas on the nose, while the mouth is savory but tart, with sharper-edged flavors of red fruits, dill and vanilla. Seems a bit reduced on the finish, with a narrow mouthfeel. Features 10% white Viura along with Tempranillo. — M.S. (6/1/2008)
