This cool-climate rendition of Cabernet Franc has intense aromatics of olive, peppery spice, leather, herbal plum and berry. It shows power and a nice mouthfeel, with a medicinal black-fruit flavor and a strong herbal backbone. The finish is moderately oaky and resiny.

Deep and earthy, as the nose exhibits touches of warm dirt, stewed meat, fresh tomato and dark fruit. The palate is livelier than the bouquet, with cherry, cassis and other forward fruit flavors. Finishes smooth, with sweeping tannins. Very good overall; high in quality.

Powerful but well cut and elegant. The nose is hardly bashful and hits with a mix of fresh greens, bright citrus and minerality. Healthy in the mouth, with blazing acidity, grapefruit and lasting green notes. The epitome of a zesty white wine.

Begins with roasted, smoky aromas that morph straight to deep black fruit. Cassis and black cherry form a solid flavor core, and there’s plenty of tannin and toast on the finish. Very solid and one of the best efforts yet from this label. Imported by Global Vineyard Importers.

Rock-solid Maipo Cabernet. Meaty aromas along with dark fruit and mushroom grace the nose, which is classic Chilean in every way. The palate is forward and balanced, with requisite plum, cassis and raspberry flavors. Simply put, this is tasty, composed and just gritty enough. Drink now into 2009.

Clear, breezey tangerine and grapefruit aromas roll out the red carpet on this crisp, citrusy SB that pours on the green fruit and scallion flavors. The palate is both round and crisp, and the finish is long and juicy. For fresh, citrusy, varietally correct Sauvignon Blanc, it’s hard to do better.

Terrific stuff, really a dynamic mouthful. True, it’s simple in structure. But the grassy, lemon-and-lime flavors are extra rich, with fig [newton] and peach flavors that are so powerful, they last well into the finish of this bone dry, crisp wine.

Starts raw and rugged, with overt sawdust aromas, but settles down to show spicy red fruit, licorice, leather and earth. A bit oaky, with coconut flavors along with molasses, chocolate and baked plum. Finishes on the sweet, syrupy side of the fence, but good in a meaty, modern, woody way.
