A steak lover’s Cab made in an old-school style, sturdy but not brash. Has its share of oak, to be sure, but it’s the “dry tannins and black pepper flavors” kind, not the toast-and-nut route. Red plum and cherry fruit are at its firm core. Enjoyable and traditional. Imported by Pan Pacific Wines.

A crisp, cool style of Shiraz—if you think “eucalyptus” equals “medicinal,” this probably isn’t your cup of tea. But there’s a lot to like about this wine’s gumtree, black pepper and blackberry aromas, and the way that its earth-clay feel steals the show on the palate. Has aromas of eucalyptus and earth, with more of the same on the palate accenting very taut mixed fruit. Layered and complex with chenille-like tannins; not a massive-sized nor overly tannic version of Tannat. Would pair nicely with braised pork in sauce. Imported by Pan Pacific Wines.

From the relatively new growing region of Wrattonbully, this Shiraz features exotic peach and apricot-like aromas and flavors, backed by some herbal notes and a pinch of peppery spice. Picks up additional spice and even some tea nuances on the finish. It’s a bit out of the ordinary, but tasty and unique.

Features some herbal overtones to the plummy fruit, also some leather nuances to the bouquet, but offers up a soft, creamy mouthful of plum and chocolate-like fruit.
