A beautiful Zinfandel that shows the elegant balance of a fine Cabernet Sauvignon, but with Zin’s exuberant personality. Powerful in wild blackberry, black raspberry and mulberry fruit, the wine also exhibits cola, mocha and chamomile notes liberally accented with crushed black pepper, nutmeg and cinnamon spice. Finishes complex, long and absolutely dry. Really…

This is a new winery for me, and they’re off to a promising start. The grapes come from well-regarded vineyards in Russian River and Dry Creek, and the wine displays classic Sonoma features of dryness and richness, with Zin’s typical wild, briary, brambly character.

With 10% Petite Sirah, which seems to give it a tannic essence of dark fruit intensity, this Zin is enormous in jammy blackberry and cherry fruit, with cola and caramel notes. It’s full-bodied and dry and, once again, those tannins are center-stage.

A good, workaday Sauvignon Blanc that’s marked with strong fruity flavors that are jammy in their ripeness. The pineapples, guavas, nectarines and apples finish in a swirl of peppery spices and tart acidity.
