Barbaresco Fratin opens with luscious aromas of sandalwood and Indian spice with fine, austere tannins later on the finish. There isn’t too much fruit here, but what does come through are nuances of prune and cassis. Overall, the wine is very dry, tight and sharp.

There’s a ripe, almost jammy quality to the bouquet of this Riserva Barbaresco that appears as raspberry or strawberry candy with subtle cola, leather and tar aromas at the back. I really enjoyed this wine with its super thick froth, creamy peach, floral tones, intense fruit aromas and higher than normal (for a Moscato d’Asti) alcohol. A great aperitivo or dessert drink. Imported by Angelini Wine.
