Pietro Clementi 2005 Red (Amarone della Valpolicella Classico)
Online Exclusive
Like in past vintages, this wine presents very vibrant aromas of apple and dried apricot followed by red berry fruit and spice. It shows a traditional, compact style that is firm and bright without being too dense or heavy.

Pietro Clementi 2007 Red (Valpolicella Classico Superiore Ripasso)
Pietro Clementi’s fresh Ripasso is redolent of cherry liqueur, exotic spice, leather and tobacco. The wine is plush and rich with a very soft and velvety quality of tannins. That said, this is an easy no-fuss wine at heart. —M.L.

Pietro Clementi 2004 Red (Amarone della Valpolicella Classico)
Price
$60
Amarone sometimes benefits from a tiny dash of volatility (that usually comes across with aromas that resemble red apple or cider), but in this case those notes have turned to apple sauce and ultimately distract from the overall picture. The wine is chewy and bright in the mouth with firm tannins.

Pietro Clementi 2005 Red (Valpolicella Classico Superiore)
Online Exclusive
This Valpolicella shows a nice level of heft and density with ripe cherry and blueberry aromas. There’s a slight tannic touch here and enough natural acidity to pair with cream cheese and chives on crackers.

The wood presence here is so strong, it all but eclipses the natural fruit of this wine. The style shows a thinner more compact approach and it’s almost as if the wine doesn’t have the pulp or fruit to stand up to all that oak.
