Poderi Alasia 2000 Rive Barbera (Barbera d'Asti)
Editors' Choice
Price
$22
This is kicking Barbera! It’s smoky, with big and ready plum and blackberry aromas. A rich, fully oaked palate of plum and cherry fruit turns spicy and peppery on the finish, with hints of espresso. You even get some sweet marzipan in the middle of the tannins. Can age for another couple of years, but it’s already sporting excellent body and feel.

Poderi Alasia 2000 Luca Monaca Red (Monferrato)
Price
$27
Dark and dense, with tight lemony oak controlling a nose that also features some promising black fruit. Very precise across the palate, with delicious blackberry flavors. Some dark chocolate and berry pie notes carry the forward finish. With multiple layers and blaring class, this is one attractive Piedmontese red.

Poderi Alasia 2008 Dolcetto (Dolcetto d'Asti)
Online Exclusive
This dark expression of Dolcetto opens with richly concentrated fruit and generous aromas of black fruit, plum, slate roof and granite stone. The wine is correct but simple in the mouth and offers a tannic bite at just the right level of firmness to pair with meat or cheese.

Poderi Alasia 2003 Rive Barbera (Barbera d'Asti)
Price
$26
Nice, easy-drinking Barbera, with nothing too complex or in your face. Medium-weight blackberry fruit is framed by hints of cocoa, turning crisp and citrusy on the finish. Imported by Vias Imports.

Poderi Alasia 2003 Camillona Sauvignon Blanc (Monferrato)
Price
$28
Rather smoky and round, with aromas of baked peaches, melon and cream. Adequately fruity on the palate, with mid-level flavors of grapefruit, melon and peach. Finishes a little bit sticky, with a bitter note akin to citrus pith. Imported by Vias Imports.
