As it’s the lowest priced of Pondera’s red wine offerings, it may be safe to assume that Melvado is the leftover-barrel blend. It’s a good companion to the pricier Consensio; here the somewhat over-ripe and pruny mix of fruit does not show as much new oak, and in its soft and slightly flabby way it is ready to go and delivers a fair amount of flavor.
