Named after the date it was planted, this wine comes from a two-acre block that’s said to be the seventh-oldest Shiraz vineyard in Australia. Perhaps this is at a closed phase in its evolution, as both samples tasted showed only modest weight and clipped finishes, despite boasting crisp blueberry, vanilla, cinnamon and toasty oak flavors. — J.C.
