Quara 2004 Torrontés (Cafayate)

  • Best Buy
  1. $9
Floral and fresh, with some blossom and honey aromas. Rather plump and soft, but with enough acidity to keep the feel solid. Flavors of banana, papaya, citrus and stone fruit are fresh and tasty. Proves that Cafayate is the prime region for Torrontes. Imported by A.V. Imports Inc.  — M.S.  (12/31/2005)

Quara 2004 Merlot (Cafayate)

  1. $9
Easygoing, with plum and berry flavors. Turns a bit snappy and upright in the mouth, but maintains a fresh, fruit-packed personality. While nothing really stands out, the whole is solid and largely likable. Imported by A.V. Imports Inc.  — M.S.  (11/15/2005)

Quara 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon (Cafayate)

  1. $9
Plum and leather work the nose, while jammy, jumbled red-fruit flavors carry the palate. Coffee and mocha on the finish are offset by spiky acidity. Very unusual Cabernet. Imported by A.V. Imports Inc.  — M.S.  (11/15/2005)

Quara 2004 Tannat (Cafayate)

  • Online Exclusive
  1. $9
Solid enough, with standard black-fruit aromas that show raisin but also adequate freshness. Black cherry is the dominant flavor component, backed by a finish that’s decently textured and a touch chocolaty. Not great, but not bad for Tannat.  — M.S.  (8/1/2006)

Quara 2004 Malbec (Cafayate)

  1. $9
Damp and murky, with aromas of burnt toast and flavors of beets and raspberry. The feel is round and lactic, with unfocused grapy fruit. Imported by A.V. Imports Inc.  — M.S.  (11/15/2005)
