Situated in the heart of the Pinhão Valley, Estanho began to produce good vintage Port in the 1990s. This 1996 shows the style well. Big and ripe, quite dry with acidity and solid tannins, it is built for long aging.

This has dominating dark tannins, laying over sweet, perfumed fruit. It is ripe and full bodied, likely to develop over the next few years. It’s not yet showing its delicious side, so it does need aging.

A wine that tastes of hot, raisiny fruit. It has acidity, but seems to have an edge that comes from dark, bitter tannins. The chocolate flavors are bitter also, firmed by edgy tannins.
