Very nicely done for a new brand that we haven’t seen before. This is Chilean SB in fine form. It’s a mix of green and ripe fruits both on the nose and palate. Aromas of gooseberry and mango are alluring, and in the mouth it bounces along on a wave of bracing acidity. Elegant and easier toprocess than Quintay’s more pungent, angular and demanding Reserva.

Initially it offers up vegetal notes, but later the nose settles on bell pepper, green melon and lime aromas. The palate is fine and linear, with a slight creaminess and good acidity. Flavors of citrus, green herbs and grass lead to a lightly herbal finish.

Prickly, lively, natural and all the way true, with sweaty, zesty aromas of nettles and green fruits. Solid, linear and smooth in the mouth, but with enough acidity and kick that the lime and passionfruit flavors pop. Elegant SB with a citrusy, clean personality.

Cola, spice, peppercorn and compost aromas are present and accounted for. Firm, structured and tannic across the tongue, with refined but powerful herb, blackberry, carob and spiced flavors. A lush and generous wine with mocha and herbal notes on the finish. Only 200 cases made.

Floral red-fruit aromas get heavier with airing. Feels thick and full, with soft tannins and mild acidity. Tastes oaky but not overoaked, with caramel, vanilla and standard red-berry and plum flavors. A touch stewy on the finish, with a resiny oak flavor hanging in there.

Although it’s standard in many ways, sometimes regularity done right works. In this case, the wine brings tropical aromas along with saline and green herbs. In the mouth, it’s fresh and briney, with tropical fruit, citrus and green notes. Tangy and pure; nice for the price.
