Raimat 1994 El Moli Cabernet Sauvignon (Costers del Segre)

  1. $29
A single-vineyard, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Intense color and a bouquet of wood and bitter cherries lead into a rich, meaty palate, with cedar and caramel flavors along with serious tannins giving a powerful, dry finish.  — R.V.  (11/1/1999)

Raimat 1994 Mas Castell Cabernet Sauvignon (Costers del Segre)

  1. $29
100% Cabernet Sauvignon with 24 months aging in American oak and three years of bottle aging before release. A deep, dark wine, with aromas of herbs and tobacco. A firm, serious palate and broad weight indicate that this would benefit from aging over the next two years. Strong wood flavors finish this concentrated wine.  — R.V.  (11/1/1999)

Raimat 1996 Tempranillo (Costers del Segre)

  • Best Buy
  1. $14
A deep, vibrantly purple color and beautiful herbal perfumes make this really enticing. There is earthiness and a dense texture on the palate along with a rich but pure dark-plum character. The spicy wood adds just a touch to the ripeness of the fruit. Best Buy.  — R.V.  (11/1/1999)

Raimat 1996 Merlot (Costers del Segre)

  • Best Buy
  1. $12
A blended wine that includes 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, this has a cherry-red color, not dense but very clear. The aromas are full of juicy, ripe fruit with just a hint of vanilla. Concentrated, fleshy palate, along with ripe tannins and some acidity, finish a well-balanced wine. Best Buy.  — R.V.  (11/1/1999)

Raimat 2008 Viña 24 Albariño (Costers del Segre)

  1. $10
With dusty apple cider aromas and tingling acidity, this seems a lot like Galician Albariño even though it’s from Costers del Segre in Catalonia. Given its price, it boasts solid if pithy apple and gooseberry flavors, modest elegance and only a touch of bitterness on a green fruit finish. Drink soon.  — M.S.  (6/1/2010)

Raimat 2006 Chardonnay (Costers del Segre)

  • Best Buy
  • Online Exclusive
  1. $11
Unoaked Chardonnay from Spain isn't commonplace, so this fresh, loose style of white works in a lot of ways. It's perfumed and inviting on the nose, while the clean palate sports lemon and peach flavors. No frills but also nothing overly comliicated. Drink upon purchase, as it's not meant to age. Imported by Vinum International.  — W.E.  (12/22/2011)

Raimat 2000 Tempranillo (Costers del Segre)

  1. $14
The nose tosses up hints of tobacco, tree bark and root beer. Flavors of cherry and strawberry carry a sugary beam, and the finish turns rather candied. Not the easiest wine to wrap yourself around; it has some Old-World style but also some clumsy sweetness.  — M.S.  (3/1/2004)
