René Muré 2004 Clos St Landelin Vorbourg Grand Cru Pinot Gris (Alsace)

  1. $61
Stunning aromas of orange, clove and gingerbread follow through to a dense palate with intriguing notes of white chocolate and honey. The high level of sweetness is effectively countered by bright acidity. Serve with a mousse of foie gras.  — W.E.  (4/1/2009)

René Muré 2000 Domaine du Clos St Landelin Vendanges Tardives Grand Cru Vorbourg Gewürztraminer (Alsace)

  1. $45
The name is quite a mouthful, and so is this rich, yellow wine made from late-harvested grapes from the commune of Vorbourg. Aromas of apricot, honey and botrytis are pure and regal, while the layered palate features baked apples, cinnamon and toffee. The finish is layered and powerful; it’s almost like a liqueur. Excellent weight and extract from start to end.  — M.S.  (6/1/2003)
